Working with a team of industry leaders in advanced materials and manufacturing, V-Carbon harnessed the power of world-class materials science to develop a disruptive and industry leading circular economy for carbon fibre (CF).
With a deep understanding of CF and the challenges faced by industry, the team and the technology were developed to produce a complete solution tailored to industries needs, previously not possible. This was done with an intimate understanding of what would be required for the most demanding applications across the aerospace, automotive, wind and industrial sectors.
The V Carbon Board and team represent a global cross section of industry, all leaders who have a deep interest in sustainable technology that understand the importance of CF and the role it will play in a CO2 neutral future.
A SUSTAINABLE CARBON FIBRE Solution
Damian founded V-Carbon with Dr. Allred in 2014 with a common commitment to establishing a sustainable technology and manufacturing platform for Carbon Fibre(CF). Damian shared a common interest with Dr. Allred in both the environment and the future potential of CF in a “CO2 neutral economy”which led to them joining forces. Damian in the preceding years had worked closely with the automotive sector in Europe and had identified the need for a CF circular economy with the opportunity to provide a sustainable CF for advanced manufacturing.
Throughout his distinguished career for over 35 years as an industry leader in advanced materials, Dr. Allred with a Doctorate of Science – Materials Science from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), maintained a strong and personal commitment to sustainable science and published prolifically on the subject. This body of work provided the foundation for Damian to establish and develop V Carbon into an industry leader in sustainable CF and advanced materials with a network that had been established over a lifelong interest in mobility and materials technology.
Some of the brightest minds in materials science and manufacturing were assembled over a sustained period with a clear mission to develop an industry leading circular economy for CF. What has been developed is now a highly disruptive CF technology portfolio ready for industry scaling.
